Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll (or any other kind of music) have always drawn toward each other. And rightly so! Especially for people who like kicks and sensations and who like to party and play, they will have their encounters with drugs (and alcohol is a drug too). And there is a lot of evidence that “just say no” really is of very, very little use.
How to keep fun-use fun,
Hans
instead of fun-ctional?
So let’s talk about chems, about sex, about chemsex without being patronizing. Why? What is the fun? Are there risks? And please not the B.S.-stories that just try to instill fear in potential users. When you understand as a self-deciding person that you are fed shit, one tends to stop eating. No, let’s talk realistic info: talk about things we know and the things we do not know yet. Let us not pretend we have all the answers. Let’s not pretend you are immediately hooked, just as alcoholism does not kick in with your first drink.
Let’s be honest. Partying with drinks and drugs can be fun! And if we are honest: a lot of people do so. Sex with drinks and drugs can be fun. Because it releases inhibitions and gets things going.
And again, if we are honest, drugs can be used to help perform and reach (sexual) goals that maybe cannot be reached (so easily) without. So what can we learn from that?
And again, if we’re honest we can’t deny the risks too. Addiction is a reality, dependence is a reality. So where is the optimum? And is it different for everyone (spoiler alert: it is).
Let’s talk about chemsex openly with Hans.
